The support & lead-capture widget

5 min read

How to enable the embeddable support widget, choose contact-form or AI-chat mode, and turn anonymous website visitors into attributed leads — with name, email and phone captured straight into your CRM.

Enable the widget

The widget is served by your existing tracking script — there is no second install. Turn it on in Settings → Support widget (also reachable from CRM & Sales → Support widget). Pick a position, brand color, header title and greeting; once enabled, your tracking script lazy-loads the widget on your site automatically.

Contact form vs AI chat

Choose the mode that fits your site:

  • Contact form — a simple name / email / phone / message form. Fast and predictable.
  • AI chat — an assistant that answers questions from the business description and support knowledge you provide, and captures a lead the moment the visitor shares contact details. The contact form is always offered as a fallback if the assistant can't help.

The AI chat is deliberately walled off from your private BI and CRM data — it only knows the business name, description and the support knowledge you give it, plus (optionally) live web search if you connect your own key.

Name, email & phone

The form collects name, email, phone and message. The phone field is on by default — toggle Show phone field in Settings → Support widget if you don't want it. All three identity fields (name, email, phone) are saved to the contact record, not just the email.

How leads are captured

Every captured visitor becomes an attributed lead and contact in the workspace that owns the site. In form mode, submitting the form captures immediately. In AI-chat mode, a valid email typed anywhere in the conversation is captured automatically — reliably, regardless of which model is answering — so you never lose a lead just because the visitor didn't use the form. The visitor's browsing journey is stitched to the new contact, so you see first touch through to conversion.

Where leads land

Captured conversations and leads appear in your Support inbox (CRM & Sales → Support) with the full transcript and a captured-lead card, and the contact shows up in your Pipeline at the Lead stage. Your team is notified of new widget leads over email and Slack (if configured) based on your notification preferences.

Frequently asked questions

Do visitors have to fill a form to be captured?

No. In AI-chat mode, the moment a visitor types a valid email anywhere in the conversation it is captured as a lead — even if they never open the contact form. The form is always available as a fallback.

Can I collect a phone number too?

Yes. The phone field is on by default; toggle it in Settings → Support widget. Name, email and phone all flow into the contact record.

Which workspace do captured leads belong to?

Always the workspace that owns the site the widget runs on — never the platform. Leads are attributed to the visitor’s journey so you see where they came from.
